The long awaited update to the Agile Point of Sale has arrived! We are thrilled to finally be showing it off. For anyone not familiar with how things have looked for over a decade here is a side-by-side look with Agile classic on the left and the updated UI on the right.

As you can see, very little of the original design remains. We have reimagined the entire screen with our clients' needs firmly in mind. Lets walk through the features we are most excited to introduce.

Items, Tools, and Settings

Almost the entire top bar has been repositioned to live on the left-hand side of the screen. This allows space for additional categories with room to grow as your organization does. Items in this area are now named to reflect your Sales Line Types instead of the general Sales Line category it was built under. No more clicking “Catalog” to find Merchandise. This area will also now only populate with items you sell. If you don't offer membership or donations those options will not appear and take up space.

In the Tools area you will find a new Light/Dark Mode feature that lets you switch between themes for your Point of Sale. There is also a new Admin button that launches the Web Portal, so you can make high levels changes quickly.

Compare the two available themes, Dark and Light, below:.

Finally, under System, the Action and Settings menus open into windows that stay open as you navigate, rather than closing when your mouse moves out of their window. Under Action, you will find many familiar items, such as changing the delivery method, opening the cash drawer, and performing an order override.

Under Settings, you will find everything you need to change what is displayed in the middle item area. Of note here is the new “View: Show > Showing” Event option, which nests Showings under their Shows on the interface to reduce visual noise for clients with a lot of events on sale at once.

Agent Action Bar

The top bar of the interface now contains many items previously found across the bottom and makes them clickable. This means you can swap corporate organizations, change the Buyer Type for advanced or member specific prices, and even cash in or out without having to navigate the Action menu.

You will also find a quick Log Out button that will return you to the login prompt instead of closing the program completely. One hidden benefit to this change is that the customer facing display now works from the login screen instead of requiring a user be signed in, which will result in more up time for those displays.

Customers

In the top right corner of the screen under the Order Search and Cancel Order buttons is the new Customer area. This section displays more customer information than ever. Customer notes are now visible at all times with an info call out button that turns red when notes are present.

Shopping Cart

Under the Customer area is the Cart section. While this area has received mostly aesthetic changes, the addition of a trash can icon on all items makes it faster to remove them from an order as a group.

Payments

Not only has customer information been removed from the subtotal area but we have also removed unnecessary line items to slim it down further. Payment information is now close to the other sales fields. Clients who use credit card devices will note that button now says CC instead of EMV. The Pay button handles all other payment methods.

Item Selection

The item display and pricing areas have also seen significant changes and additional features with this update, starting with an overhaul of how it is displayed. Using the Settings menu, for instance, you can use the new Show > Showing view to consolidate all your Shows and display how many of Showings each have on sale.

After you select a Show, the interface will open up only its showings, making it easier to find the right date and time even on a large list. Once the Showings are open, you can also use the new Benefits button found on the right side of the Shows area to see if the current order customer has any benefits  that apply to that Show.

Item Pricing Area

The pricing area also contains a number of enhancements, starting with the spacer bar that separates the two areas. With a Show selected, you can use the call out button to get information about the Show’s sale date range or any assignment policies that attach additional tickets.

This bar is also where you will find the new Order Search button which will default to orders for the currently selected show. You can now drag this bar around the screen or double click to have it move down by the length of 1 button to maximize this space to your liking.

Prices still use the color you select at the tier level to distinguish one tier from another, but the color is now far more subtle. This means you can use dark colors on your tiers and still be able to easily read all prices. Prices available thanks to a benefit are marked with a red star, so member prices are more visible regardless of the tier you find them on.

Customer Facing Display

Clients with a customer facing display on their Point of Sale will see a number of improvements this update, starting with easy access to all of the screen states. Open the Settings menu and select Guest Display Options to make changes to any of them.

Here you can use the Styles tab to make changes to the header background colors and font used during transactions.

The Closed Message and Open Message are both powered by our Digital Displays so they can display dynamic or static information as desired.

The During Sale message will dramatically alter the check out screen customers see by devoting a quarter of the display to messages or images.

Clients using the new Seating Diagram setup for reserved seating events will now be showing that seating map to customers on the customer-facing display. While they still can not touch to select their own seats they can zoom in and out on the map for easier viewing of large maps.

The requirement for a user to be signed in to display a sign has also been removed from the display settings. The Closed Message will now display so long as you leave the log in screen open. Never again will you have a screen in your box office that isn't displaying information just because that registers isn't currently operating.

We hope you are looking forward to the these changes as much as we have looked forward to showing them to you.
