Custom properties are fields that can be added to any show, event or item to display information about that show to online clients. Custom properties can also be hidden for filtering purposes. Filtering a list of shows or even your calendar will be discussed in the advanced section of each article.

Creating Custom Properties in ATS App

Begin by Logging in to Agile Ticketing Solutions and. Locate the Settings Folder under your Corporate Organization House and click Custom Properties.

In the Custom Properties window right-click and select New. Then click Event for a show custom property or Catalog for merchandise custom properties.

The Name field is what customers will see. This should be the category such as “Cast”, “Rating”, or “Production Country”. Group is the first factor in how these fields will be organized for display. All items placed in the same group will display one under the other online.

Display Sequence allows you to organize your custom properties by assigning them a number, with zero being the top item on the list and higher numbers placed lower. The group containing the lowest display number will be the first group displayed. If all items are left at 0 the system will display both groups and items alphabetically.

Default to Hidden allows you to make this property invisible to customers online. This setting ties in with filters which will be discussed in the advanced custom properties section at the bottom of this article. Leave the Enabled box checked or this property will not be active on your items and events.

Suggested Values allows you to create a list of often-used properties that can be chosen from a drop-down when adding to an individual show. Checking the Allow Override Of Suggested Values box allows users to type their own values in addition to selecting one of the suggested values.

Click OK to save this property.

ATS Advanced Custom Properties - Filtering

Filtering based off custom properties lets you restrict items to appear on some, but not all, of your lists or calendars. You can also create multi-scroll pages to organize programs by theme or genre. Please see our custom property filter best practices below.

Name and Group are still your most powerful tools for describing your new property to patrons and staff. In this example, we will filter a web entry point so that only Special Events will appear. The extremely high Display Sequence pushes this filter property to the bottom of your list and. Checking Default to Hidden will hide it from customers' view.

Put all of the filter types you need in the Suggested Values area by clicking the green plus. Save yourself some time and headaches by unchecking the Allow Override of Suggested Values box. This will prevent your filter from missing a film due to a typo.

Click OK to save this Property.

To create the filter, locate the link for your web page found in the Entry Points section of your Web folder. Open the Entry Point Group that points at your web online sales channel. Then right-click the entry point you want to filter and select Properties.

Once that opens, navigate to the List Details tab, and go to Available Filters to pick your filtering custom property. Add this filter to the web page by clicking the green plus.

Once your filter appears check the box under Hidden to keep this filter working in the background. Click on the clipboard under Initial Value to set what this filter will be allowing through. If you do not enter your tag exactly as it appears on the custom property under your event, your event will not be able to pass through the filter.

Your list or Calendar will now only contain items with the correct custom property tag.

Web Advanced Custom Properties - Filtering

Filtering based off custom properties lets you restrict items to appear only on some of your lists or calendars. Please see our filtering best practices below.

Name and Group are your most powerful tools to describe the property to patrons and staff. In the example we will filter a calendar so that only Special Events will appear. The extremely high Display Sequence will push this to the bottom item on your list. Default to Hidden is checked to hide it from view.

You should put all of the filter types you need in the Suggested Values area using the Add button and uncheck the Allow Override of Suggested Values box. This will make this property drop-down only and prevent a spelling error from blocking a film from your filter.

Click Save to save this Property

To create the filter, locate the link for your web page by clicking on Settings and scrolling to the bottom where you will find the Websites and Apps group. Click Internet Sales to open your entry points.

Once that opens, locate the entry point you want to filter and click the Edit Pencil to make changes.

On the List Details tab use the drop down next to the Filters field to select the custom property you would like to filter with and click Add Filter.

Once your filter appears check the box under Hidden to keep this filter working in the background. Click on the box under Initial Value to set what this filter will be allowing through. Enter your tag exactly as it appears on the custom property under your event.
